The following were taken into account while coming up with the indicative marks :

  1. As per the MCI data the range of marks for the UR category for the AIQ counseling is 685 to 468
  2. Around 14315 candidates come withing this range
  3. For reporting purposes we have split up the mark range with respect to the rank as as follows
    1. For scores above 600 – Rank 1 to 500 – a total of 500 candidates
    2. For scores in the range of 600 to 550 – Rank 501 to Rank 2000 – a total of 1500 candidates
    3. For scores in the range of 550 to 520 – Rank 2001 to Rank 5000- a total of 3000 candidates
    4. For scores in the range of 520 to 500 – Rank 5001 to 9000 – a total of 4000 candidates
    5. For scores in the range of 500 to 470 – Rank 9001 to 14000 – a total of 5000 candidates
    6. So, overall for about 14000 candidates in the range of 685 to 470

So we can see that for a mark of above 600 we can get MMC, the top ranked college in TN. For a mark of around 510 or 515 we may end with Villupuram or Thiruvannamalai Medical colleges, currently the lowest ranked colleges in TN.  Though the MCI cut-off score is around 468, with respect to TN the cut-off mark will be 520 or just below 520 . Please remember this is only for AIQ, i,e for about 400 to 425 seats.

For the state quota seats the cut-off will be different and we can discuss the same in the next post.
