Some of the important features of this NEET 2017:
- For the first time, NEET exam can be taken in regional languages, other than English and Hindi. The additional languages are Gujarathi, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
- The maximum attempt to take NEET has been capped at three. Candidates who have already taken three attempts in AIPMT/NEET cannot take NEET this year. ( Note – Subsequently this has been amended and the attempt counts will be done starting this year only. All the previous years attempts will not be counted. So any candidate writing NEET this year will have two more attempts to clear NEET )
- The upper age limit is capped at 25 years. (This also has been removed subsequently by a court order and currently the upper age limit of 25 years stands cancelled)
- Aadhar card has been mandatory to apply and write the exams. So the candidate need to have a valid Aadhar card and the data should match with that of the school certificates
